The component will be received, catalogued
and entered into our tracking database. The
database will be updated as each test is
completed and the results will be available,
by request, at any time during the evaluation
process.
All the welds on a component will be visually
inspected for discontinuities and defects based
on the drawing and proper welding code.
Pictures will be taken of any discontinuities or
defects found.
Visual Inspection
Independent weld evaluations ensure that
you are receiving a quality product from
your supplier.
ATC has the equipment to perform a very thorough evaluation and our experienced engineers will examine each weld on the component and provide you with a detailed analysis.
With our fast turn-around and easy results tracking, you will soon have the information you need to make those critical decisions.

Cross sections of each weld configuration will
be cut from the component, polished and
metallurgically etched to distinguish the weld
metal from the base material.
Cross Sectioning
After the evaluation is complete, a short visual report
documenting the component's soundness will be
provided and will include pictures from the visual
inspection and cross sectioning.
Weld Evaluation Results
If requested, component and/or welding documentation
will be reviewed for soundness.
Easy Tracking
Proper fusion and joint penetration will be
inspected for each cross section by examining
pictures and measurements taken using a
calibrated microscope and computer software.
The cross sections and evaluated components will be
held for 90 days (longer upon request), or sent back to
you as needed.
